Barolo 'Bussia' Magnum Giacomo Fenocchio 2012

The cru Bussia is one of the most authentic expressions of Barolo in Monforte d'Alba, cultivated by the Fenocchio family for over 30 years with a bond of affection that goes beyond the mere production. Covering an area of ​​about 5 hectares, the cru Bussia enjoys an excellent exposure to the South that allows a constant solar irradiance of the vineyards and a soil with clay and calcareous sediments rich in iron, which conferes structure and complexity to Barolo. The production philosophy of Claudio Fenocchio, head of the operations in the vineyard and in the cellar, follows the enhancement of the various characteristics of the soil in each micro-zone in order to obtain grapes able to reach optimal ripeness and with a biochemical value unique. Following the love for their land and the respect for traditions, the family Fenocchio favors the intrinsic development of Barolo, understanding the needs of aromatic concentration and longevity: for this reason, Barolo Fenocchio undergoes long macerations, with no technological shortcuts, and spontaneous fermentations performed the indigenous yeasts of the grapes. Similarly, the refinement of Barolo is carried out slowly, waiting for the right time frame able to give complex and intriguing aromas, with great charm and never predictable flavors. Following this approach, Barolo Bussia by Fenocchio highlights the most distinctive features of this symbol of the Langhe hills, with a subtlety in the glass that will show up even more with the passage of time.
