Chianti Classico Riserva Castello della Paneretta 2010

The Chianti Classico by Castello della Paneretta boasts in its DNA stories of vines and wine dating back to 1500: at that time, in fact, it was started the production of "the ancestor" of this Chianti Classico, inside this fortress of great charm, built around a Ghibelline watchtower, on a wooded ridge that divides Val d'Elsa from Val di Pesa. Of the three hundred hectares of property, typically covered by forest, only twenty are devoted to vineyard, with soils very different between one layer and the other within a few hundred meters. The choice of using low plant density and the exclusive use of Sangiovese and Canaiolo enhance the territoriality of this cellar, which has withstood the test of time, resisting to the almost overall restructuring of vineyards in Tuscany. The Chianti produced by Castello della Paneretta perfectly interprets this traditional style acting as a shining example of classicism: aged in large oak casks of 30 hl and then polished in barriques, it is large in the aromatic bouquet, with powerful feelings of licorice, black cherry, red rose. Respond to this wealth of fragrances a distinct minerality, derived from the calcareous soils, and delicate tannins, that can result in soft and velvety sensations.
