'Dinavolo' Bianco Denavolo

"Dinavolo" is an outstanding example of white wines macerated on the skins, produced in full respect of the oldest and most ancestral peasant traditions. It is produced by the small Denavolo winery, located in the village of the same name in the hills of Piacenza, founded and run by Giulio Armani, former winemaker at La Stoppa winery and a great protagonist in the rediscovery of the roots of wine-making in the territory.

"Dinavolo" is made from a variety of grapes native to the hills of Piacenza, including Ortrugo and the aromatic Malvasia di Candia, grown in micro plots on limestone soils that climb up to 700 meters above sea level. The farming approach involves the use of only copper and sulfur, with no herbicides, fertilizers or chemicals. In the winery, vinification takes place spontaneously, by the action of indigenous yeasts, in steel tanks without the addition of sulfites, yeasts, clarifying agents or other additives. The long maceration on the skins for at least 6 months gives the wine its typical golden hues tending toward orange, which become more intense with aging. The wine is bottled without filtering.

"Dinavolo" embodies the typical peculiarities of the terroir combined with an intense aromatic complexity that makes it grand and unpredictable at the same time. The peculiarities of the terroir are marked freshness, agile structure and important minerality, at times saline and iodine. It is undoubtedly an articulate and complex wine, not easy to approach, unique and for this reason full of charm.
