Frappato Cos 2013

The Things that Giusto Occhipinti and Titta Cilia, owners of this beautiful Sicilian reality, were able to do are incredible: in 1980 they began making wine in a depressed area and, stubbornly and without riding any type of fashion, have proposed a new type of approach to viticulture and wine, demonstrating the enormous potential of Frappato. Frappato of Cos is an intense wine, with great personalities, in its extreme naturalness and rigorous style: a really nice wine and great varietal identity. The vineyards of the winery are distributed in the countryside of Victoria, between the districts and Bastonaca and Fontane, on average 250 meters above sea level. Areas traditionally suited to viticulture, with calcareous-silica-clay soil. Here the vines grow really the best, preserving in the berries whole territoriality that the terroir of Acate is able to give them. Frappato is a very special wine, intense and unique, that Cos was able to give a sort of second life.
